BigXthaPlug - BURN (feat. Ava Max)

The neutral ground: Charley Cooks, Julia Lewis, and Tony Coles lay the groundwork for a trap-drama confrontation

The track was produced by Charley Cooks, Julia Lewis, and Tony Coles. They created a trap-drama-style sound foundation that serves as the basis for the entire piece. This musical choice allows for a constant sense of tension without weighing down the structure, providing space for the vocals to clash clearly. The balance between the trap rhythm and melodic elements is the hallmark of this precise technical collaboration.

Pop theatrics: Ava Max transforms verses into melodic and heartbreaking vocal sections

Ava Max performs the pop-oriented vocal sections, while BigXthaPlug delivers two verses. The American singer brings a distinct contrast that gives the track its successful crossover appeal. Her presence emphasizes the melodic element of sorrow necessary for the message. This division of roles allows the verses to become distinct moments of emotional rupture.

A crossover moment: fusion of anger and melancholy in a 2 minute 56 second track

An official music video accompanying the single was released, featuring BigXthaPlug and Ava Max. This visual element enhances the narrative aspect of a song described as a pop-rap crossover. The fusion occurs without simply juxtaposing the genres, instead crystallizing masculine anger and feminine melancholy into a single, coherent sonic image. The single is the last track released by BigXthaPlug before the release of his upcoming studio album.

The Final Act: BURN as the ultimate prelude to Better Over Time on October 30, 2026

This unique track marks the trajectory of BigXthaPlug just before the release of his next studio album. It represents a snapshot of the artist at the peak of his collaboration with UnitedMasters LLC, marking a significant step in his musical evolution. The presence of Ava Max on this single illustrates the American rapper's ability to integrate distinct universes without sacrificing his own identity. BURN functions as a gateway to a larger project, while also maintaining its own internal and thematic coherence.
