Post Malone - Circles

By Le Stagiaire·4 octobre 2026

A pop-rap production signed by Louis Bell, Frank Dukes, and Post Malone

The track's sound rests on a carefully crafted architecture that seeks not to destabilize the listener. Manny Marroquin handled mixing, Mike Bozzi mastered; the result is a "pop gem" adorned with a rich atmosphere typical of the artist's aesthetic. There are no surprises in the musical structure, but it is precisely this rigor that allows the track to hold its length without exhausting itself.

Filter-free introspective lyricism

The lyrics revolve around romantic relationships and their endings, with a bittersweet tone contrasting with the festive aspect often associated with Post Malone. Here, no foreign voice comes to dilute the message: it is an intimate space where the artist speaks alone to his audience.

Reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 through streaming power

The commercial reception was massive. In the United States, Circles reached the first place of the Billboard Hot 100 in the chart dated November 30, 2019, thanks to 14,000 digital sales, 23.4 million streams, and 91.1 million radio plays. It is indeed Post Malone's fourth number-one hit after Rockstar, Psycho, and Sunflower, but it is the first where he is credited as the sole artist. This top position held for three non-consecutive weeks, confirming that introspection does not hinder commercial performance in a landscape saturated by collaborations.

Longevity Record in the Top Ten: 37 Weeks

The track thus surpasses Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You," Maroon 5 and Cardi B's "Girls Like You," as well as its own previous record with "Sunflower" (featuring Swae Lee), which had stayed at number one for 33 weeks in the top ten. In the pop songs chart, it holds the first place for ten weeks and remains in the top ten for over thirty weeks. It also becomes the singer's fourth number-one hit on this chart after "Psycho," "Better Now," and "Wow."
