Yung Kafa & Kücük Efendi - I WANT 2 BELIEVE

By Le Stagiaire·

Far from lengthy, narrative stories, this project, as soon as it appeared on Fibonacci Bres, presents itself as a demonstration of mastery of time, a sustained rhythm that refuses any unnecessary weight.

I WANT 2 BELIEVE: the post-CHEF trajectory in a collective mode

Released on February 6, 2026, this studio album marks the next logical step for Yung Kafa & Kücük Efendi, following directly on from CHEF (2023). The continuity is palpable, but the approach has evolved. Far from a return to a solitary style, the album aims to be a collective manifesto, where collaboration becomes the new standard of legitimacy. Seven of the thirteen tracks feature one or more guest artists, transforming the album into a major platform for artistic exchange. It is less a collection of solos than a photograph of an artist at a crossroads, using this release to assert their place within a scene where networking is more important than individualism.

BANDZ à KARANLIK: seven features that redefine the role of Yung Kafa & Kücük Efendi

The album's core is driven by a strategy of dense networking. From track 2 to track 11, seven tracks feature external voices, revealing a collaborative approach where each added name brings a specific contrast. The presence of three artists on "BANDZ," featuring Bawer, Ufo361, and Jimmy Torrio, suggests a shared approach around a central theme, creating a rich sound texture from the very first minutes after the album's release. This density continues with the trio FRIO, Juh-Dee, and Young Mesh on "SCHWIMMEN IN GELD," where the simultaneous presence of three artists indicates a collective intention. The recurring presence of certain names, such as Young Mesh, who also appears on tracks 4 and 5, or Juh-Dee on several tracks, reveals a strategy of continuity rather than a simple accumulation of occasional collaborations. The presence of Yung Kafa himself as a featured artist on "KARANLIK," alongside Motive and Jumpa, is particularly interesting for understanding the trajectory of the duo. This track, numbered 11 in the tracklist, confirms the marked collaboration with CHEF (2023) as a direct predecessor, anchoring the current project in a coherent discographical history. Here, the duo appears on their own album, adding a reflective dimension to a project that is built by others before returning to its own roots. The presence of Jumpa on this track is particularly notable, as it also links her to track "KEIN SUPERHELD," numbered 10, where she appears as a featured artist with the duo, showing a balanced distribution of roles within the project.

The FRIO, Juh-Dee, and Young Mesh trio: the central axis of collaborations

On "SCHWIMMEN IN GELD", the trio consisting of FRIO, Juh-Dee, and Young Mesh establishes an immediate group dynamic. This continues on "PSG" with the addition of Jamule alongside Young Mesh and Juh-Dee, and then on "RACK ROMANTIK" where Lil Zey joins the same recurring partners. This sequence of four tracks demonstrates a strategy of progressive evolution: starting with a pure trio and introducing new voices while maintaining a core group of loyal collaborators. The continuity of these collaborations suggests that Yung Kafa & Kücük Efendi have forged strong connections with this artistic circle, using the album as a showcase for this lasting alliance.
